|View Vidcast of Dr. Wes Fryer’s Webinar Presentation|
In this online chat, the illustrious Dr. Wes Fryer (@wfryer) shares his thoughts on encouraging students to write with KidBlog and/or WordPress as a blogging platform. The platform serves as a “home base” where students can gather, house their writing and work. Interactive writing is, as Dr. Fryer points out, the “foundation of the house.” He shares great examples in his slideshow and presentation. The ethic of fewer clicks: “iPads reduce the number of clicks to get students to create…students can create visual notes they can post to their KidBlog.”
Note: The Weekly Webinar Series, Digitizing the Writing Workshop, is a collaborative effort between the East Central ISD and Del Valle ISD with special input from the San Antonio Area Council of Teachers of English (SAACTE.org). The co-hosts include Diana Benner (Del Valle ISD) and Miguel Guhlin (East Central ISD).
