I love this picture that GregKulowiec shared via Twitter during his time at #ettipad (whatever that is, presumably a conference). While I’d seen it before, it really does serve as a powerful analogy for how schools often drop technology into the classroom:
It’s a fantastic picture and I’m grateful that GregK tweeted it out. App-smashing is a fun example of the kinds of creative projects are possible when we allow ourselves to use a tool the way it was fully intended rather than strap it on to existing, past innovations. Rather than limit ourselves to the old ways of using the new, we accept the new and see how it will change what we do.
How neat it is to see others feature your hard work with their stuff, even when your stuff is already quickly being smashed down as others build on top of it! Just last week, I featured Greg Kulowiec (Twitter: @gregkulowiec) and other app smashers work in my TechForum presentation and materials, completely over-awed by the incredible creativity of recent app smashes.
