It’s kind of funny that we should now see a MS Paint alternative on UbuntuLinux…why would anyone waste time on Paint? To answer that question, you just have to remember what is one of the first applications a lot of people turn their children loose on–Paint. Too bad more Paint programs don’t come with the capabilities of Kid Pix, the dynamite sound of destruction, stamps, etc.

As much as Microsoft Paint is derided, mocked and generally thought of as lame there is no denying that it’s one of the applications newcomers to Ubuntu find curiously omitted.  GNOME Paint aims to fill that gap. (Source)
