Podcast – Conversation with Dr. Richard Smith #onlinelearning #elearning

Dr. Richard Smith, Course Design Virtuoso

“Conversations are the way workers discover what they know, share it with their colleagues, and in the process create new knowledge for the organization. In the new economy, conversations are the most important form of work … so much so that the conversation is the organization.”

—Alan Webber, “What’s So New about the New Economy?” Harvard Business Review

At the Texas Distance Learning Association (TxDLA), I had the opportunity to chat with Dr. Richard Smith (University of Houston Clear Lake) about his organization’s offerings to prepare teachers to be “certified” for Texas Virtual School Network. Richard shares his insights into course design, which are well worth listening to.

Every time I chat with Dr. Smith, I realize the benefits of “the most important form of work.”
